Juicy Rebounds
The Mission:
Helping former hockey players build a life doing something they love again.Context
Juicy Rebounds is a business education and mentorship community built for former hockey players navigating life after the game. The audience wasn’t beginners or career tourists. It was people with discipline, edge, and experience, who felt out of place in traditional careers and wanted to build something on their own terms.
This needed to feel credible, human, and earned, not motivational, not corporate, not hockey-for-hockey’s-sake.
The Problem
There’s a moment many hockey players hit after the game ends. Not immediately, but quietly, over time. You’re behind. Late to the working world. Unsure where you fit. So you do what you’ve always done, you commit harder. You force yourself into careers that look responsible on paper but feel dead on arrival. You assume the discomfort is your fault. Until one realization changes everything. You don’t have to live that way.
For a certain group of former players, traditional careers feel suffocating. Working nine to five, building someone else’s dream, taking direction without ownership, it clashes with how they’re wired. They don’t lack discipline or talent. They lack a path that fits.
The deeper problem is this.
No one tells them that the traits that made them competitive athletes are the same traits that make strong entrepreneurs. The fight, the resilience, the refusal to quit. Without context, those qualities turn inward and feel like failure.
At the same time, building a solution for this group comes with its own challenge.
Juicy Rebounds couldn’t look like school.
It couldn’t feel like hustle culture. And it couldn’t talk down to people who’ve already lived hard chapters. It needed to earn trust, stand apart, and spread an unfamiliar idea. That entrepreneurship isn’t an escape plan. It’s a legitimate next chapter, built together, with accountability, community, and a locker room mindset.
The Idea
Juicy Rebounds was built on a shift in understanding. What players missed after hockey wasn’t the game itself. It was the structure around it. Purpose. Identity. Community. A reason to show up and commit fully. The idea was to help former players recognize that those things didn’t come from hockey. They were developed through it, and they’re transferable.
Instead of teaching entrepreneurship as a set of tactics, Juicy Rebounds treats it as a way to apply those instincts to something new. Building an occupation and a life that fits how they’re wired. The locker room mentality stays. Shared standards. Accountability. Honest conversations. Momentum built together.

Juicy Rebounds came from my own experience leaving hockey. I knew firsthand how important identity, routine, and community are when you’re committing your life to something. The realization that I was meant to be an entrepreneur didn’t arrive loudly. It was counterintuitive, especially in a world where that path isn’t often presented as a real option. The identity needed to reflect that.
A Juicy Rebound is a phrase use in hockey to describe a glorious second chance opportunity, and this is life's equivalent.
